WrestleMania 33 was truly quite a spectacle for fans all over the world, but if one match would have materialized, the show would have been literally bigger.

A match between 7-foot behemoths the Big Show and NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal was supposed to go down in the event, but was somehow scratched for unspecified reasons.

On Monday (Tuesday in Manila) the retired basketball legend finally aired his side and pointed fingers at the World Wresting Entertainment (WWE).

“They (WWE) kept playing,” O’Neal said during  “The Big Podcast with Shaq,” as relayed by TMZ Sports.

“First, they said it was me and Big Show. Then, they said it was going to be three-on-three. Then, they canceled it, so when they canceled it, I made other arrangements,” he added.

Shaq, who serves as a full-time host on Turner Sports’ “NBA on TNT,” added that the promotion tried to salvage the match at the last minute, saying “They messed it up.”

Prior to the botched match, The Big Show uploaded several photos on social media documenting his preparations against Shaq.

The gentle giant still competed at WrestleMania 33 on April 2, albeit in a much less noteworthy match in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. He ended up losing to Mojo Rawley.  Khristian Ibarrola /ra
