Jia Morado said Ateneo committed one to many errors that played a big factor in a four-set loss to La Salle in Game 1 of the UAAP Season 79 women’s volleyball Finals on Tuesday.

“I think we just made more errors than we should have,” Morado said.

The Lady Eagles committed 35 miscues in the match as the Lady Spikers won, 21-25, 29-27, 25-22, 25-20.

Morado believes Ateneo knows the solution to its problems and all it has to do is to refocus on its training in leading up to Saturday’s do-or-die.

“We know what to work on in training. It’s not something that we’re super worried about because we know what we have to work on,” she said.

Despite the tough loss, Morado shared that the team is still on a high.

“After the game, no one seemed down about it and that’s a good thing,” she said. “When we got to the dugout, we were pretty optimistic and no one was dragged down by this loss.”

“This is the Finals. It’s expected that both teams will fight, so what we can do is move on from this and then focus on the next one.”
