Miñoza, Alido share early ICTSI lead

Revered Frankie Minoza and rookie pro Ira Alido birdied their last two holes to tally 4-under 68s and share the early lead with Clyde Mondilla and American John Catlin in the ICTSI Orchard Golf Championship at Orchard’s Player course in Dasmarinas, Cavite, on Wednesday.

Mondilla tied Minoza and Alido through a birdie-par-eagle finish, while Catlin birdied six holes against two bogeys to join the pacesetters.

“The greens are tricky and the wind was really strong,” said the 57-year-old Miñoza, a two-time Philippine Open champion.

Alido, 41st placer in the Luisita leg, could have been a solo leader were it not for a bogey on No. 15. —ROY LUARCA
