Mangosong scores Supercross repeat
Davao City pride Bornok Mangosong bucked the determined opposition and the early loss of his throttle grip to score a crucial victory in the fourth and penultimate leg of the Diamond Motor Supercross series on Saturday at Mx Messiah Fairgrounds in Taytay, Rizal.
The 25-year-old Yamaha rider and main man of Team Unstoppable Athletes Mindanao struggled in the first two laps of the grueling 20-lap PTT Pro Open race but fought back to seize the lead and then solo it home under the scorching heat.
“I lost my throttle grip in the first two laps and had to fight my way back into the race,” said Mangosong, who also won the third leg of the series sponsored by Diamond Motor and supported by Dunlop Tires, Dickies, Tireshakk, Yamaha Motor, Go Pro, PTT, DC Shoes, Coffee Grounds and Xtreme Adrenaline Sports.
