National University head coach Jamike Jarin said Wednesday they can’t do anything about their early exit from the Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier but use it as a lesson months before the UAAP season begins.

The Bulldogs had a chance to enter the quarterfinals but fell short against University of the Philippines, 59-56, in their final group stage game.

“It was very disappointing because we were looking forward to going to the quarterfinals, but hats off to UP because they played really well despite their three key players not playing,” said Jarin as his team finished their run with a 4-4 record.

NU played against a depleted UP team that did not include Paul Desiderio, Diego Dario, and Juan Gomez De Liaño.

Jarin added the Bulldogs will use their experience in the preseason to help them prepare better for the upcoming UAAP season.

“Of course we will learn from this and pick up from what we learned and just keep moving onwards to the UAAP,” said Jarin who is on his first year as NU head coach after leaving San Beda.

“You have to stay confident and the good thing about this is the UAAP will not start tomorrow so we still have two months to work on our team.”
