Highly-touted forward Christian Standhardinger finally showed up at Gilas Pilipinas’ Wednesday afternoon practice at Meralco Gym.
The 27-year-old Fil-German made his first public appearance with the national team as he is set to be a part of the Philippines’ squad for the 2017 Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in August.
Standhardinger arrived late Tuesday night from Germany and was welcomed to the team by SBP president Al Panlilio, coach Chot Reyes, and team manager Butch Antonio.
Also joining the team’s practices for the first time were Mac Belo, who just recovered from a torn meniscus surgery, and Jio Jalalon, who was coming off a flu.
Also attending the sessions were SEA Games-bound players Kobe Paras, Kiefer Ravena, Kevin Ferrer, Mike Tolomia, Ray Parks, Carl Bryan Cruz, Raymar Jose, Von Pessumal, and Almond Vosotros, as well as fellow cadets Matthew Wright, Ed Daquioag, and Fonzo Gotladera.
Jones Cup import Mike Myers was also on hand for the sessions.
