Misagh Bahadoran finally found the back of the net in the Philippines Football League, scoring twice as Global Cebu registered another home win at the expense of Stallion Laguna, 3-0, on Sunday at Cebu City Sports Center.
Hobbled by different injuries the past two months that saw him relegated to a substitute role, the Global skipper rediscovered his scoring touch, finding the target in the second half, before Shu Sasaki sealed the victory with an acrobatic strike late in the match.
“I’m happy I finally scored [in the PFL], but what’s important is getting the win in front of our own fans,” said Bahadoran, who came on as a substitute in Global’s huge 1-0 win over Ceres Negros on Wednesday.
The win pushed Global to second spot with 20 points, three points off FC Meralco Manila.
A record 5,500 fans watched Bahadoran’s goals in the 49th and 67th minute.
