Marawi kids take a break
Displaced by the armed conflict in Marawi City, hundreds of children temporarily shifted their attention to sports during the Philippine Sports Commission Children’s Games held in Iligan City over the weekend.
It was held in the sleepy town of Buru-un where children were treated to two days of competition in volleyball, football and Filipino traditional games, among others.
“Aside from counseling, the activity was a welcome relief after experiencing the siege of Marawi,” said PSC commissioner Charles Maxey after the third leg of the Games for children aged 12 and below.
