Filipinos break ice with 12-0 thumping of Indonesia in ice hockey

The Philippine ice hockey team showed why it’s among the favorites to win the gold medal in the 2017 Southeast Asian Games.

The Philippines thrashed Indonesia, 12-0, kicking off its gold medal bid in dominating fashion Monday at Empire City Ice Arena in Damansara Perdana in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Ice hockey is being staged in the regional meet for the first time.

The Filipinos take on Singapore next before wrapping up their stint against Malaysia and Thailand.
