Phoenix import Brandon Brown said Friday that his Fuel Masters team isn’t on the same level as the other franchises in the PBA in terms of getting respect from game officials.

“We’re not a well-respected team in this league, I mean the referees are not going to give us any calls down the stretch,” said Brown Friday at Smart Araneta Coliseum after losing to TNT 110-103.

Though the foul discrepancy is just two between the two teams, 29-27 with less calls going to TNT, the KaTropa had 33 free throw attempts while the Fuel Masters had just 22.

TNT also had 10 free throw attempts in the final period while Phoenix had just six.

Brown, who finished with a game-high 49 points, said the only way to get the same level of respect their opponents’ enjoy is to stay consistent and win some games.

Phoenix have lost six straight games and languish at the 10th seed with a 2-6 card.

“We can’t just hope we get calls at the line and hope we get lucky shots, we just got to stay consistent,” said Brown who repeated the word “consistent” two more times “That’s the only way we can win games.”

And as for his point-production, Brown expressed his disappointment since he wasn’t able to help his team get the victory.

“I don’t like it. We lost,” said Brown who also grabbed 19 boards. “I don’t care about the stats. I’m just trying anything that can help us win. I can have 60 but we lost so it won’t matter. I just want to win.”
