JAKARTA — Filipino bets halted their respective losing streaks, prevailing in the undercard of ONE: Total Victory Saturday at Jakarta Convention Center here.

Roy Doliguez and Ramon Gonzales both emerged victorious for the first time in the promotion to raise the Philippine flag high and proud here in Indonesia.

Doliguez (7-4) pulled off a huge upset as his left straight landed right in the jaw of Yago Bryan (3-3), to win his match at the 2:58 mark of the third round.

The 35-year-old’s will never wavered even if Bryan, a former Shooto South American Strawweight Champion, took control majority of the match.

Having a sense of desperation in the final round, Doliguez banked on his better striking game as his stringent boxing training paid off, knocking his Brazilian foe with the killer punch to force the referee stoppage in the final round and stop his three-match slide.

Meanwhile, Gonzales (2-2) submitted Chinese foe Liu De Li Ge Ri Hu (2-3), locking his opponent in a triangle choke at the 1:52 mark of the second round to end his two-match skid.

The Bicolano bet fighting out of Hitman MMA did not have to showcase his improved conditioning as his aggression from the get-go helped him buck Liu’s counters to emerge triumphant in his first match in the flyweight division.

Hisyam Samsudin (2-2) of Malaysia silenced the raucous crowd as he pounded Indonesian Jeremy Meciaz (0-2) with repeated elbows to the head, forcing the referee to stop the match at the 2:47 of the first round.

After the match, the Malaysian bet couldn’t stop the tears as he dedicated the triumph to his father, who passed away on Friday.

“I know you want to support me here in Jakarta, but this is for you, dad!,” a jubilant Samsudin said.

Indonesian strawweight Adrian Matheis (3-3) survived Cambodian Phat Soda (0-1) early and submitted the visitor with a rear-naked choke at the 3:11 mark of the first round to protect his home floor.

In the preliminary fights, Thai Rithy (6-2) of Cambodia pummeled Liberian Jerome S. Paye (2-4) to take the knockout victory in their catchweight match 19 seconds into the second round.

Indonesian bantamweight bet Riski Umar (1-0) blasted compatriot Adi Nugroho (0-2) with a killer knee strike on the midsection to roar in his ONE debut with a first round knockout 2:00 into the match.
