Kia sends disgruntled Revilla to Phoenix for Grimaldo, pick

LA Revilla is no longer part of the Kia franchise, a team which he had played for the last three years.

In a report by Musong Castillo of Philippine Daily Inquirer, Kia traded away its disgruntled point guard to Phoenix for rookie Jayson Grimaldo and a second round draft pick in 2018.

“There’s no use making things difficult for him,” said Kia board member Bobby Rosales of Revilla, who was drafted in 2013.

Revilla took to Twitter to show his disgust when the trade sending Kia’s no. 1 pick to San Miguel became official on Oct. 27, minutes before tip-off of the seventh game between Ginebra and Meralco in the Governors’ Cup Finals.

“Kung magpalusot man lang sana ginandahan niyo ang rason. Hindi talaga eh. Bagsak siguro kung may lie detector,” Revilla tweeted on the same day Kia said that it was its “unconventional philosophy” that made it trade away Christian Standhardinger.

That tweet has been deleted and Revilla has kept quiet on social media since.

“He already apologized for the things he said,” said Rosales.
