LeBron would rather spend time with family than join 3-point contest

LeBron James was never regarded as much of a marksman from the three-point range, but he is currently experiencing his most efficient clip this season, making 42.5 percent of his attempts.

But despite his career resurgence from beyond the arc, don’t expect “The King” to join the NBA All-Star Weekend three-point contest this coming February.

When asked by reporters if he would consider joining the Saturday night festivities, the three-time NBA champion gave a short yet frank response.

“Not when I can spend a Saturday night at home with my family,” James was quoted as saying by The Athletic.

The annual basketball exhibition is set to take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, where the superstar forward owns a home in the city.

With the league shifting to a high-octane offense with emphasis on three pointers, James has shown confidence in his stroke from beyond, averaging 4.8 attempts per contest.

Still, the 32-year-old Cleveland Cavaliers superstar is highly likely to participate in the All Star game itself, which would mark his 14th consecutive appearance.  Khristian Ibarrola /ra
