World Cup: Filipino bowlers Clutario, Rivera gain top 24
JOHANNESBURG—Filipino bowlers Liza Clutario and Biboy Rivera played consistently to easily advance to the top 24 of the Qubica AMF Bowling World Cup competition here.
Clutario rolled 4367 pins in 20 games to finish fifth in the women’s division while former world champion Rivera scored 4613 to rank sixth among men.
American Tommy Jones led the field with 4903 for a 245 average.

The competitors had been cut to the top 24 bowlers who will play another eight games to determine the remaining eight participants in both divisions.
Rivera and Clutario earned the right to represent the Philippines in the international finals here by winning the national titles.
