Arellano University and San Beda try to forge a title duel while Jose Rizal and Perpetual Help seek to spoil that bid when the Final Four of the 93rd NCAA women’s volleyball tournament fires off Friday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan City.
Assured of a twice-to-beat incentive after ending the elimination round tied on top with 8-1 (win-loss) slates, the Lady Chiefs and the Lady Red Spikers hope to finish off their foes in the doubleheader that kicks off 2 p.m.
San Beda takes the court first, battling Perpetual in an expectedly tough duel while Arellano shoots for its goal against JRU’s Lady Bombers at 4.
Arellano is eyeing a second straight finals appearance where it hopes to capture a second straight crown and third overall. San Beda is aiming to make it to the finals for the first time.
“Winning the title has always been our goal. But we need to focus in the Final Four first before thinking of anything,” said Arellano coach Obet Javier in Filipino.
Perpetual Help and Jose Rizal hope to steal a win that will force winner-take-all matches for Finals slots.
