Quezon City claims top Coke Hoopla spot

MANILA—Quezon City defeated Marikina, 73-66, to claim the top spot in the 2nd Coca-Cola Hoopla National Capital Region Championship last Tuesday.

John Villarosa topscored for Quezon City with 18 points and Nico Estrella added 11 to claim Quezon City’s fifth straight win.

Undefeated Mandaluyong, Pasay and Antipolo were humbled after suffering their first losses in the competition. San Juan shocked Mandaluyong, 77-75, with Angelo Galinato scoring 19 and Vincent Huit added 18 to pull the upset over Mandaluyong.

Binangonan stunned neighbors Antipolo, 77-75, while Las Piñas defeated Pasay, 95-93. Alvin Olegario fired 24 points for Binangonan.
