SJ Belangel is staying home.
The 6-foot playmaker has committed to remain in of Ateneo where he will bolster the Blue Eagles’ already potent backcourt rotation.
He announced his decision on Thursday on his Twitter account, writing: “Home is where the heart is.”

Belangel averaged 17.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.7 steals in his senior year in Ateneo last UAAP Season 80, where he earned a spot in the Mythical Five and steered the Blue Eaglets to the juniors’ championship.
The 18-year-old guard’s arrival boosts coach Tab Baldwin’s stacked backcourt, which features Matt Nieto, Anton Asistio, Gian Mamuyac, Aaron Black, Tyler Tio, and the comebacking Adrian Wong.
