Batang Gilas arrives in China for Fiba U16 Asian Championship
Batang Gilas has arrived in Foshan, China a few days before the tip-off of the Fiba Under-16 Asian Championship from April 2-8.
The Philippine representatives landed in Foshan Saturday ahead of their first game in the group stages against Malaysia on Monday.
Article continues after this advertisementBatang Gilas is grouped with Malaysia and Australia in Group B with all their games are schedule at Foshan Lingan Mingzhu Gymnasium.
The Filipinos, who will be led by 7’1″ prospect Kai Sotto, face the Aussies on Wednesday. The team is coached by Michael Oliver.

The top two teams in each of the four groups will advance to the knockout quarterfinals and the top four teams will then go up to the 2018 Fiba Under-17 Basketball World Cup in Argentina on June 30 until July 8.
Before leaving for the tournament, Batang Gilas lost to Far Eastern University Tamaraws in a tune-up game last Wednesday.
