Regardless of what had been said and written about Terrence Romeo, TNT is willing to give the super scorer the reboot he needs in his career.
“Everybody should be given a second chance. A lot has been said on what kind of player Terrence is, but he deserves a second chance,” said KaTropa team manager Virgil Villavicencio on Tuesday.
TNT acquired Romeo, alongside Yousef Taha, in a trade with GlobalPort on Tuesday, sending Mo Tautuaa, its 2020 first round pick, and its 2021 second rounder in exchange.

Villavicencio shared the team’s excitement in securing the services of the three-time Scoring Champion as it bodes well with the KaTropa’s continued rebuilding stage under coach Nash Racela.
“It’s a win-win situation for both parties. Talking about basketball skill-wise, who would pass up on a talent like Terrence Romeo?” he said.
Romeo joins a loaded TNT backcourt which features Jayson Castro, Jericho Cruz, Roger Pogoy, and RR Garcia.
Villavicencio feels that the entry of Romeo bolsters the team’s chances of once again contending as it gives the KaTropa a deadly 1-2 punch.
“Jayson will always be Jayson, but if you’ll observe, he was more efficient when Jimmy (Alapag) was around,” the amiable executive said.
“Now, with Terrence in the team, we feel that he’s a good fit with us as both Terrence and Jayson can play the one and two positions.”
