Che’Lu Bar Stuns Akari in D-League semis

Banking on its veterans, Che’Lu Bar and Grill-San Sebastian pulled off a 70-60 stunner over Akari-Adamson to draw first blood in their 2018 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup best-of-three semifinal series on Tuesday at Pasig Sports Center.

Cedrick Ablaza poured in 12 of his 22 points in the third quarter turnaround for the Revellers, to go with his four rebounds and three steals, while Jeff Viernes had 16 points and eight boards.

Earlier, Zark’s Burger-Lyceum clawed its way from a 16-point deficit and hacked out a 90-87 overtime victory over Marinerong Pilipino for a similar 1-0 lead.

Mike Nzeusseu punctuated Zark’s Burger win with a dunk in the last 5.5 seconds of the extra period, elating team manager Bernard Yang.  —RANDOLPH B. LEONGSON, INQUIRER.NET
