Ravena: We have to learn how to win again

In Philadelphia, Arnett Moultrie has gotten himself accustomed to the mantra of “trusting the process.”
Things aren’t as different for him here in the Philippines as the Road Warriors fell down to a 0-3 start this 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
But for Kiefer Ravena, they should be in a different level by now.
“We already trusted the process. That was last conference. So now, it’s time to believe in the process,” he said while trying to maintain a positive attitude despite NLEX’s current skid.
The super-rookie would rather stay optimistic knowing the Road Warriors’ ability to hurdle these struggles.
“We need to trust each other. I’m not saying that we’re not, but we just have to dig deeper and look inside ourselves because we need one to pull out wins, and right now, we badly need wins,” he said.
It’s an unceremonious start for an NLEX team that reached its first franchise semifinals appearance last conference with Ravena getting the top billing.
But past is past, and another conference presents a different challenge of its own.
“We’re in survival mode and it is what it is. We have to control what we can control and that is our standing right now which is 0-3,” said Ravena, who contributed 21 points, 10 assists, and two rebounds in NLEX’s tough 106-90 defeat to Meralco on Friday.
That puts more pressure for the Road Warriors to perform at their best next Friday as they avoid to fall to a 0-4 ditch in their clash against Phoenix in Biñan, Lagina.
“We try to bounce back in Laguna against Phoenix,” he said. “From that game on, we can’t be thinking of making it to the playoffs. We have to take it one game at a time because it’s tough to look that far and at the same time, we can’t even take care of business by winning one game. So we have to be realistic at this point. We have to learn how to win once again.”
