Professional basketball player Mac Mac Cordona was arrested after stabbing his former live-in partner while “high on drugs” in her Makati City condominium early on Saturday.
According to a police report, Bianca Nicole Jackes, the former live-in partner of Cardona, was treated at Makati Medical Center for a stab wound in her left arm.
On her Instagram account, the 25-year-old Filipino-Australian said she was thankful that she was only hurt, but “it has done a lot of damage to my nerves, muscles.”
Jackes belied earlier reports, saying that no argument ensued between her and Cardona, and that he was “high on drugs” when he attacked her.
She said the 37-year-old Cardona went to her condominium unit on Malugay Street in Barangay San Antonio, around 5 a.m. on Saturday, after being separated for two years.
“He just showed up where I was staying with my two kids, and attacked me with a knife and stabbed me,” Jackes narrated.
“[He] went there high on drugs, and trying to get back with me, but I refused,” she added.
Jackes said she tried to calm Cardona down. “I didn’t even yell after getting stabbed because I didn’t want to wake up the kids.”
She then went all by herself to the hospital by hailing a cab.
