Quitara, Calma Southwoods tennis favorites
Laurenz Quitara and Aubrey Calma banner the field in the premier division of the Palawan Pawnshop-Palawan Express Pera Padala Manila Southwoods age-group tennis tournament unfolding Tuesday in Carmona, Cavite. Quitara, member of the newly formed national 16-under pool by the Unified Tennis Philippines, gains the top seeding in the 16- and 18-U play but the Imus, Cavite, rising star expects a tough outing against the likes of Joshua Molina, Elvin Geluz, Stefano Gurria and Jester Ocio with Sebastien Lhuillier, JT Bernardo and Nicolas Ison joining the hunt in the 16-U side. Calma, from Cagayan de Oro, also faces a formidable challenge from a slew of talented rivals.
Karatedo faction appears on PSA Forum
The ‘other’ group of the Philippine Karatedo Federation (PKF) will appear in Tuesday’s session of the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) which resumes at Tapa King Restaurant at Farmers Plaza in Cubao. Jose Manansala Jr. leads the panel of guests in the 10:30 a.m. session to air his group’s side in the PKF leadership squabble. The public sports program is supported by San Miguel Corporation, Tapa King, and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor).
