Former De La Salle guard Brent Paraiso has transferred to University of Santo Tomas a few days after he was seen playing for the school in a preseason tournament.

Growling Tigers head coach Aldin Ayo, who was also with the Green Archers before going to UST, said Paraiso’s father Bong told him that the incoming third-year wing will be donning black-and-gold for UAAP Season 82.

Paraiso will be serving his mandatory one-year residency with UST in Season 81 but Ayo said his new Growling Tiger will play in the Universities and Colleges Basketball League and will be joining the team for regular practices.

Ayo said he and Bong finalized Paraiso’s papers regarding the transfer, scholarship, and dormitory.

Paraiso said he discussed with his parents regarding his transfer but he is yet to pick a course at UST after studying International Studies at La Salle for two years.

Ayo said he expects Paraiso to use the one-year residency to improve as the defensive-minded guard is already familiar with the coach’s system.

“Well I expect him to improve on his skill sets because you can’t stop improving,” said Ayo, who won one title apiece in the NCAA and the UAAP.
