PayMaya climbed to the top spot of the standings after sinking Iriga Navy, 25-23, 22-25, 25-20, 25-23, in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference Saturday at Batangas City Coliseum.
The High Flyers improved to a 3-1 card but could share the ownership of the topseed if Creamline wins over Pocari-Air Force in the second game.
PayMaya head coach Roger Gorayeb said its imperative for them to get one of the top two spots but he wants his team to not just settle for the second seed.
“We want to reach the top two but of course I want my team to be the no. 1,” said Gorayeb in Filipino. “Every team already lost at least once so I think we’re in a good position we just have to continue winning.”
“We just tried to keep the ball flying and in play,” said Nicole Rountree, who had 24 points to lead the High Flyers.
Shellby Sullivan and Aiko Urdas has 11 points apiece for PayMaya.
Macy Ubben and Macy White had 26 and 20 points, respectively, for the 1-2 Lady Oragons.
