Creamline continued its mesmerizing dance and handily dispatched BaliPure 25-22, 25-18, 25-16, to capture its fourth consecutive victory in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference Saturday at Filoil Flying V Centre.
The Cool Smashers, who stumbled in their second game against BanKo, ramped up the wins and improved to a league-best 5-1 card while the Water Defenders dropped to 3-3.
Alyssa Valdez dropped a game-high 15 points to lead the Cool Smashers, who have locked the top spot and earned an outright berth to the semifinals.
“We took it one game at a time and coach Tai [Bundit] made us go through game-viewing sessions to help us in little ways,” said Valdez in Filipino. “I think we had a pretty nice distribution today and the team had a beautiful chemistry in the game.”
Creamline had the Water Defenders close behind midway through the third set, 15-13, but they eventually zoomed away and finished the match on a 10-3 run. Michele Gumabao finished things off with a crosscourt kill.
Kuttika Kaewpin had 10 points to complement Valdez’ scoring while Risa Sato added nine.
Janisa Johnson had 13 points fro the Water Defenders while Alexis Matthews had 10.
