It was a forgettable Saturday night for Filipino fighters inside the Octagon.
Shortly after flyweight Jenel Lausa lost, Rolando Dy also suffered a second-round defeat to Shane Young of New Zealand in the preliminary card of the UFC Fight Night: Cowboy vs Edwards at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.
Dy, son of former boxing champion Rolando Navarette, absorbed major punishment from Young, who unleashed a barrage of punches that prompted the referee to stop the fight at the 4:40 mark.
An elbow to the face was the beginning of the end for Dy, who was left in a bloody mess.
The 26-year-old Dy absorbed his third loss in four fights in the UFC.
Earlier, Lausa tapped out from a rear-naked choke applied by Yuta “Ulka” Sasaki of Japan in the second round of their flyweight bout.
Dy took his seventh loss overall against nine wins while Lausa dropped to 7-5.
