FEU, UST share early pvl lead

Far Eastern University pounced on College of St. Benilde’s series of miscues in the decider to pull off a 25-19, 32-30, 15-25, 24-26, 15-4 victory in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Collegiate Conference at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan on Sunday.

Dragged into a fifth set battle, the Lady Tamaraws took seven of the first eight points in the decider—the last four off errors.

They were never threatened from there as last year’s runners-up racked up six straight points after the Lady Blazers made it a 4-9 game, clinching the victory on another CSB miscue.

University of Santo Tomas likewise hurdled its opening-game assignment, dominating the first two sets before rallying in the third to complete a 25-21, 25-12, 25-17 rout of San Sebastian College in the other game.

FEU and UST joined opening-day winner Adamson for the early lead.
In the men’s side, National U banked on Bryan Bagunas as it trounced reigning NCAA titlist Perpetual, 25-18, 27-25, 23-25, 25-16, while CSB subdued San Beda U, 25-21, 15-25, 28-26, 27-25.
