Justin Brownlee has lost the Best Import award twice but he wasn’t going to be denied for a third time.
Brownlee, Barangay Ginebra’s prolific forward, has been finally named Best Import after leading his team to the 2018 Commissioner’s Cup Finals.
Ginebra chants rained down on Brownlee, who was awarded Friday night at center court shortly before Game 4 of the finals between the Gin Kings and the San Miguel Beermen tipped off at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Meanwhile, June Mar Fajardo won his seventh Best Player of the Conference award.

Vic Manuel, who had an 11-game stretch scoring at least 20 points, was a distant second while Stanley Pringle of GlobalPort finished in third.
The 30-year-old Brownlee finished second to Meralco’s Allen Durham in the 2016 and 2017 Governors’ Cup but had the last say after powering Ginebra to the top during both conferences.
Brownlee beat his former Asean Basketball League teammate Renaldo Balkman of San Miguel Beer and Reggie Johnson of Rain or Shine and Diamon Simpson of Alaska for the award.
Brownlee got a total of 1209 points, outpointing Balkman by 351.
