San Beda captain Cesca Racraquin had to watch her team falter in two straight outings in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference from the bench.
Racraquin was absent for two of the Red Lions’ last three losses because of a couple injuries on her left leg.
The missed opportunity to help her team lit the fire under Racraquin as she led San Beda to a dominant victory against San Sebastian 25-14, 21-25, 25-20, 25-16.

“This win is very important for me because for the past games I can see that the team didn’t have a leader and I’m hurt because I’m their leader,” said Racraquin in Filipino. “So when I played today, my focus was to lead the team so we can play as one.”
“I saw that I was able to help them in getting the win today.”
Racraquin, who had five points in her previous game against Far Eastern University, put up 18 points against San Sebastian as the Lady Red Spikers snapped their skid and bagged their first win.
The win not only pushed the Lady Red Spikers to a share of the fifth spot in the standings, it also gave them a psychological advantage over the Lady Stags come the NCAA tournament.
“We already have one win over them because we won in today’s game so when the NCAA tournament comes they will think ‘San Beda again,’” said Racraquin. “That’s the thought we want them to have.”
