Mandaluyong five, Antipolo advance
MANILA—Antipolo and Mandaluyong advanced to the Inter-Zonal phase of the 2nd Coca-Cola Hoopla National Capital Region Championship on Friday while Valenzuela dragged Caloocan into a do-or-die match for the North Zone slot .
Antipolo’s Michael Dizon scored 30 points and Paul Baliton added 14 as it turned back Taytay, 79-75, in their West Zone playoffs.
Mandaluyong nipped San Juan, 76-72, in a clash of Central Zone powers as Glenmark Cerbito and Rafael Rebugio each poured 20 points.
Top North Zone team Caloocan got stalled, however, as it bowed to Valenzuela, 66-77.
Defending champion Muntinlupa, meanwhile, blasted Las Piñas, 90-70, in their South Zone duel.
