Veteran Mark Yee exploded for a career-best 33 points as Davao Occidental sustained its scintillating form by drubbing Caloocan, 82-68, on Saturday night for its fourth straight victory in the MPBL Datu Cup at Caloocan Sports Complex.

A week after grabbing the erstwhile league-best 24 rebounds in a 68-61 win over the Pasay Voyagers, the former Philippine Basketball Association journeyman went on attack mode early that powered the Tigers to another convincing victory that tightened their grip of second spot in the South division.

Bonbon Custodio added 10 points and dished off 12 assists as he toyed with the Caloocan defense all game long, while Leo Najorda had 15 points—all coming from beyond the arc—to lift the Tigers to a 7-3 card.

“We’re developing our chemistry that’s why we’re playing better,” said Yee.

The Tigers exploded for 66 points in the first half to take the fight out of the Supremos, who fell to their seventh straight loss.

Caloocan now holds a 2-8 record for 12th spot in the North division.

Meanwhile, Parañaque held Zamboanga scoreless in the last five minutes to pull off a come from behind 68-58 victory that also snapped a three-game slide.

The Patriots leaned on a timely explosion from Mac Montilla and another all-around performance from Harold Arboleda, who finished with eight points.

With the win, the Patriots improved to 5-5 for fifth spot in the South, while the Valientes slumped to their third straight loss for a 4-5 card.

Montilla fired eight of his 10 points in the last five minutes, including a jumper for a 66-58 lead with 61 seconds remaining.
