Man City player scores spectacular own-goal from 50 yards

BIRMINGHAM, England (AP) — Manchester City player Abbie McManus scored an own-goal from 50 yards (meters) in a Women’s Super League game.

McManus’ long-range back-pass bounced over goalkeeper Ellie Roebuck and found the net in the eighth minute against Birmingham on Sunday.

McManus quipped “goal of the season” in a Twitter hashtag before adding “lesson learnt.”

City recovered from going 1-0 down to win 3-2.
