Josh Reyes out as Batang Gilas coach—report

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas has reportedly relieved Josh Reyes of his coaching duties for the Philippine national youth team.

In a story by Matthew Li of Tiebreaker Times citing sources, “there is no replacement yet for the vacant position.”

After joining the Batang Gilas coaching staff in time for the Fiba U16 Asian Championship and Fiba U17 World Cup earlier this year, Reyes then took over the head coaching post from Mike Oliver in the 2018 FIBA Under-18 Asian Championship.

Reyes’ reported ouster came only three weeks after his father Chot stepped down as Gilas Pilipinas head coach.
