UAAP women’s basketball: NU strips Adamson for 69th straight win

National University maintained its perfect run across four seasons after embarrassing Adamson University, 92-62, in the UAAP Season 81 women’s basketball tournament Wednesday at Mall of Asia Arena.

The Lady Bulldogs not only improved to an unbeaten 5-0 start in the year but they also stretched their four-year-old winning streak to 69 games.

Reigning MVP Jack Daniel Animam and Kaye Pingol had 14 points apiece for NU while Rhena Itesi finished with a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double.

In the other game, De La Salle stunned University of Santo Tomas 73-63.

The Lady Archers and Growling Tigresses are tied at the third seed with identical 3-2 records.

La Salle mounted a game-defining 15-0 run in the fourth to take a 64-51 lead with 4:15 left in the game.
