Chitorivera’s Learning Aquatic Skills & Services (CLASS), Inc. will hold the Samahang Manglalangoy ng Pilipinas’ (SMP) 1st Luzon Invitational Class A-B-C age band interclub/interschool swimming championships on Oct. 20 and 21 at Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
Rivera, a former secretary general of the national swimming association, hatched the competition to foster camaraderie among swimming enthusiasts aged 8 years and above.
There will be 50, 100 and 200-meter individual events in backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, butterfly and medley and 4x50m freestyle relay.
Medals will be awarded to the top three placers of each category while trophies will go to the most outstanding swimmers in each category based on points. In case of a tie, the number of gold medals shall decide the winner.
Entry fee is P1,150 per swimmer. Those who will submit entries with payment on or before Oct. 13 at 5 p.m. will have a discounted entry fee of P1,050. Scratches and corrections must be made until Oct. 17 only. Otherwise, full payment will be charged. Swimmers are allowed to join seven individual events and two relays.
