BanKo Perlas whips Iriga-Navy
BanKo Perlas demolished Iriga-Navy, 25-22, 25-21, 25-19, Wednesday at the start of the second round of eliminations in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at Filoil Flying V Center.
The Perlas Spikers, using speed as their weapon of choice, thus halted their two-game losing streak.
“We notice that we were playing way too slow,” said BanKo veteran middle hitter Sue Roces in Filipino. “That’s not how we play. And that’s why we couldn’t pull away in the match.”
Iriga-Navy, fresh from scoring its first win in the conference at the expense of winless Akari-Adamson, managed to keep the sets close but just could not wrap things up despite the efforts of veterans Nene Bautista and Joanne Bunag.
“So in the third set I told the team, ‘Hey let’s play quick,’ and that’s where we were able to control the third set,” added Roces.
