Petron kicked off its bid for a back-to-back title with a 25-18, 25-15, 25-18 drubbing of Cocolife at the start of the 2018 Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference Tuesday Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, who was the Finals MVP of Petron’s championship run last year, tallied a game-high 14 points, including three service aces, while Ces Molina, who returned from a stress fracture injury, added 10 points and 14 digs.
The Blaze Spikers also got help from the sloppy play of the Asset Managers, who had 27 errors.
Kalei Mau, Cocolife’s Filipino-American recruit, impressed in her debut with 13 points and 11 digs.
Petron swept F2 Logistics in the All-Filipino title clash last year.
