Letran netters shut out foes
MANILA, Philippines—Letran continued its dominance on both fronts Monday as the Knights and the Squires shut out their respective foes in the 87th NCAA tennis tournament at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center in Manila.
The defending men’s champion Knights swept San Sebastian, 3-0, to keep their streak intact at five, while the Squires blanked the College of St. Benilde Junior Blazers, 3-0, to rise to 4-0.
San Beda, meanwhile, topped the St. Benilde, 2-1, to climb to solo second behind the Knights, and half a game ahead of the Blazers, who dropped to 4-1.
Article continues after this advertisementIn other seniors matches, Arellano (2-4) bombed Jose Rizal U (0-6), 3-0; Perpetual Help (3-2) ripped Emilio Aguinaldo College (0-5), 3-0.
In juniors play, SSC routed Arellano, 3-0; SBC beat EAC, 3-0; and Perpetual swept Mapua, 3-0.
