MANILA, Philippines—A couple of Filipinos are set to do damage in ONE Championship’s Clash of Legends card on Feb. 16 at Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
Mark Abelardo (17-5) is set to make his main roster debut after an impressive outing in Rich Franklin’s ONE Warrior Series 3.
“Tyson” will take on undefeated Japanese Daichi Takenawa (11-0-1) in a bantamweight clash in the undercard of Clash of Legends.
Abelardo earned a ONE Championship contract after he beat Shinechagtga Zoltsetseg via first round stoppage and that win marked the Filipino’s fourth straight victory and sixth in seven matches.
Also in the card is Team Lakay’s Gina Iniong who plans to get back on the winning track as she takes on Thailand’s Jihin Radzuan in the women’s atomweight division.
Iniong (7-4) lost her last fight against Istela Nunes via unanimous decision while Radzuan (4-0) looks to extend her winning streak with her last three fights all happening inside the ONE Championship cage.
Headlining the card is Nong-O Gaiyanghadao as he takes on Han Zi Hao in a firecracker of match for the ONE Super Series Muay Thai World bantamweight title.
Gaiyanghadao is considered as one of the best strikers of all time having competed in over 300 professional bouts winning two Thailand National Muay Thai Championships, four Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Championships in different weight classes, and a Rajadamnern Stadium Muay Thai World Championship.
