MANILA, Philippines—St. Clare College-Virtual Reality shocked Che’Lu Bar and Grill, 82-77, for its second straight win in the 2019 PBA D-League Aspirants Cup Thursday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Junjie Hallare led the Saints with 19 points, 12 in the second half, while also grabbing five rebounds and tallying six steals.
Mohammed Pare added 10 points and 16-rebounds for the Saints, who sport a 2-0 card.
From a 63-all deadlock, St. Clare went on a blistering 13-3 run to take a 76-66 lead with 3:50 left in the game.
The Revelers, who dropped to a 1-1 record after the loss, fought back with Jhaps Bautista’s free throws getting them to within three, 80-77, in the final 30 seconds of the game.
Pare, however, scored on a late layup with 10.7 seconds left to seal the win for the Saints.
Bautista paced Che’Lu with 16 points, four rebounds and three assists. / gsg
