PBA delegation heads to Pangasinan for 2019 All-Star weekend

MANILA, Philippines—With four days away from the PBA All-Star Game weekend, the first wave of the PBA players is headed to Calasiao, Pangasinan to kick off the basketball festivities.

The All-Star weekend participants are scheduled for courtesy meeting with Mayor Joseph Bauzon at Calasiao Municipal Hall followed by a motorcade around the town famous for its rice cakes.

The Obstacle, Three-Point Shootout, and Slam Dunk Contest are happening on Friday at Calasiao Sports Complex.

Following the different skills challenges is the Rookie/Sophomore vs. Juniors game that was revived in the 30th anniversary when the PBA institutionalized the yearly staging of the All-Star game.

The league will also stage clinics for aspiring basketball players as well as referees with different visits to barangays, medical centers, and an orphanage as part of the PBA’s Corporate Social and Responsibility programs.

Sunday night will then have the North vs. South All-Star game with Phoenix’ Louie Alas guiding the North and Rain or Shine’s Caloy Garcia coaching the South.
