MANILA, Philippines–It’s been exactly a week since Kai Sotto arrived in Atlanta to train.
In a video posted by his American coach Rory Jones, who is also Andray Blatche’s personal trainer, on Instagram, the lanky 16-year-old high school star was sweating it out doing strength and conditioning and dribbling drills.

But what has impressed Jones more was Sotto’s work ethic which included picking up the equipment he used after his training session and putting them back in their proper place.

“We’re done working out and now he’s picking up the cones. Wow. I’m telling you, I don’t know too many 7-footers like this. Who would do this? Look at this guy,” said Jones, who is also Andray Blatche’s personal trainer, while taking a video of Sotto.
The seven-foot-two Sotto, along with his dad Ervin, flew to the US to hone his craft as he tries to become the first homegrown Filipino to make the NBA. He is then headed to Europe to play after receiving several offers from club teams.
He is working out at Emory Sports Medicine Complex, which is also the Atlanta Hawks’ training facility.
