Jerwin Ancajas puts on show in TKO win over Japanese challenger
MANILA, Philippines—Jerwin Ancajas redeemed himself in style after delivering a brutal beatdown of Japanese challenger Ryuichi Funai in their world title fight Sunday (Manila time) at Stockton Arena in Stockton, California.
Ancajas gave Funai a master class en route to a seven-round stoppage.
The Filipino boxing star put on a show eight months after a subpar performance against Mexico’s Alejandro Santiago in a fight that ended in a split draw.
The 27-year-old Ancajas (31-1-2, 21 KOs) successfully defended his IBF super flyweight crown for the seventh time.
