‘Spider Man’ says no intention to hurt, PBA stunt only meant to spread message of love

MANILA, Philippines—Mark Barroca’s last-second game winner that lifted Magnolia to an 88-86 win and a crucial 3-2 lead over San Miguel in the PBA Philippine Cup finals wasn’t the craziest moment in Game 5.

A man dressed as Spider-Man managed to run to the Smart Araneta Coliseum parquet floor in a disastrous stunt where he collided with Beermen center June Mar Fajardo during a crucial stretch in the game.

Fajardo seemed visibly shaken after the collision that apparently hit his jaw, but the still unidentified court invader clarified that he was just spreading the message of love just in time for the upcoming midterm elections on Monday.

“Wala akong balak na manakit, ang message ko pagmamahal eh tapos mananakit ako, di ko po kayang gawin yun,” said the still unidentified assailant Friday. “Di ko nga po nakita. Siya bumangga sa akin.”

(I didn’t have any plans of hurting anyone, my message is about spreading the love so I really couldn’t hurt someone. I didn’t see him, he’s the one who collided against me.)

The court intruder claimed that he even runs charity that started in 2010 and that apparently running onto the middle of a PBA game is the best way to get his message across.

“Meron po akong charity, matagal na, nung 2010 pa. Ito na lang talaga pagkakataon para umayos tayong lahat,” said the intruder.

(I have a charity that I started in 2010. I think this is the only chance to make things right).

Nevertheless, the PBA will still file criminal charges against the invader who is now detained at Quezon City Police District 7.

Araneta security also apprehended the court invader’s accomplice and a random fan who sucker punched the said accomplice.
