Dynamic FC snares Nofa Cup over stunned Barotac
Fuelled by last year’s quarterfinal defeat, a relentless Dynamic FC side stunned LGU Barotac Nuevo, 5-0, on Sunday night to wrest the 4th Nofa Under-13 Cup at Sta. Maria field in Bacolod City.
San Carlos City-born Rey Allen Rico fired a hattrick, while Frankie Felia and Elijah Pabalete were also on the scoresheet for a Dynamic side which showed vast improvement after its early exit last year.
Dynamic FC coach Ronald Ian Treyes attributed his side’s rise to the hard work the players have put over the past year.
“This shows how much these players have developed in one year,” Treyes said. “The core of this team was much younger than the other teams last year, but we saw a lot of maturity and composure from the players this time. Next year, it will be a different team again for us.”
Rico was also on target as Dynamic overwhelmed Don Bosco Cebu, 4-1, while Barotac prevailed over Golden Harvest of Bukidnon via the same scoreline in the other semifinal.
Nofa president Ricky Yanson said standouts in the tournament will form the squad bound for Soong Ching Ling Cup in Beijing, China, in August.
Yanson vowed to come up with a bigger tournament next year with the help of the Philippine Football Federation.
