MANILA, Philippines—Alex Cabagnot has been vocal about his interest to represent the country in the coming Southeast Asian Games and the San Miguel Beer guard expressed that desire anew.
“Is there a tryout for SeaGames ? I would love to try and compete for one of those elusive roster spot. #WithAllDueRespectOfCourse,” Cabagnot wrote on his Twitter account Monday.
It’s possible that the Philippines ends up fielding in an all-PBA team in the SEA Games and if that’s the case, Cabagnot certainly has a chance to earn a slot in the lineup.
The 36-year-old Cabagnot wore the country’s colors for the first time in September last year in the Fiba World Cup Asian qualifiers.
Cabagnot already has a decorated basketball career with eight PBA championships and one Finals MVP award but one thing missing from his trophy case is a gold medal.
