MANILA, Philippines—Former Gilas Pilipinas coach Rajko Toroman is going to handle another national team in Southeast Asia.
Toroman, the first coach of the Gilas program that featured collegiate stars playing full time for the country, has been named the head mentor of the Indonesian national team for the Southeast Asian Games.

The Serbian tactician was in attendance in 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Wednesday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Indonesian websites reported Toroman’s appointment over the weekend and the 64-year-old head coach will try to lead the team to a better finish after its silver medal haul in the 2017 Southeast Asian Games.

It is likely that the Philippines and Indonesia will face off at a crucial juncture in the tournament that will be held in the Philippines from November 30 to December 11.
Toroman is also part of the coaching staff of Mighty Sports in the 2019 William Jones Cup in Taiwan from July 12 to 21.
