PVL semis: PetroGazz rolls past BanKo Perlas in Game 1

MANILA, Philippines—PetroGazz recovered from a third-set slump to crush BanKo Perlas, 25-19, 25-15, 21-25, 25-12, Wednesday night and move a win away from making the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference Finals at Fioil Flying V Center.

The top-seeded Angels banked on Wilma Salas and Janisa Johnson in posting the easy win in Game 1 of their best-of-three semifinals series.

BanKo Perlas deployed a returning import in Stiix Horton, but she failed to weave her magic against the well-oiled PetroGazz. Salas and Johnson accounted for 19 and 17 points, respectively.

But for a brief period in the third frame, PetroGazz appeared vulnerable as it committed 11 unforced errors against BanKo’s four, which neutralised its attacking game (16-11) in the set.
