ANTIPOLO CITY, Philippines—PetroGazz showed no remorse and dealt BanKo a 25-23, 25-18, 25-17 beating to get to the finals of the Premier Volleyball League Reinfored Conference Saturday at Ynares Center here.

The Angels completed a clean run in the best-of-three semifinals to advance to their first championship round in franchise history, a testament to the team’s hard work this conference.

“I’m really happy because the players’ sacrifices paid off,” said head coach Arnold Laniog in Filipino. “We reached our target so we’ll give it our all in the finals.”

Wilma Salas fired 23 points to lead the Angels’ offense while Janisa Johnson added 13 points in the clincher.

But there’s still work to be done for the Angels, who allowed the Perlas Spikers to get free points off their 24 errors, 10 of which were tallied in the first set alone.

“We were tight in the first set because of the unforced errors and we gave our opponents almost half of their points in the first set,” said Laniog.

Jeane Horton put up 10 points to lead the Perlas Spikers, who will wait for either Creamline of Pacific Town-Army in the bronze medal game.
